I visited this church with my grandparents this past Easter Sunday, they are new to town and was hoping to see that their church was welcoming and had a good sense of community, unfortunately this was not the case. I leave a review today in the hopes of passing on some constructive criticism. Whilst the pastor had a natural and engaging presence on stage it seemed that his sermon was not well prepared. There were a few interesting stories but nothing seemed to link up - it felt as though he was making it up on the spot and there was no clear or take-home message. He didnt even tell us his name. Easter is the most important holiday for a Christian, but the message was missed almost entirely. It wasnt clear that there were opportunities for fellowship before/ after the service nor during the week, and we didnt feel greeted by anyone. Whilst we are glad there are churches like this in Oxford, we hope this fresh perspective might highlight some areas for potential growth.
