We have always had a nice experience at this dairy, however, not today with the female owner. She was angry, abusive and aggressive towards my daughter this morning, throwing her change at her, one coin hitting her in the head, the other rolling out of sight. A bit shocked from the experience, my daughter insisted we go down after school to sort out the misunderstanding, calm the waters and check she wasn't in the wrong. The lady owner was adamant she was sworn at. Explaining this was not something we agree with, and my daughter being genuinely shocked and upset that the lady thought she said "bloody" towards her, the lady began to rant about how she is being disrespected and claiming there is no language barrier (even though we never mentioned there was). She would not enter into a discussion with me, speaking over me, even as I spoke calmly and with kindness and understanding. I agreed it is not ok to be sworn at, but I'm not sure she heard it. I was aware with wearing a mask a word may have been misconstrued, but she was so reactive I couldn't get this across to her. The lady spontaneously said she shouldn't have thrown the money at my daughter, to be honest I was just wanting to clear up the misunderstanding, the apology for that could come afterwards. The male owner tried to reason with the lady and calm her down, but she pushed him away. He was very apologetic. My daughter recalls a couple of occasions in the past where she went to pay for something by EFTPOS and the lady keyed in $0.60 instead of $2.60. She alerted the shopkeeper on these occasions of the undercharge so she could be charged correctly. I'm not saying my daughter is an angel, however it is odd when we are often told she has lovely manners. To swear at a shopkeeper would be very out of character. This situation seemed very strange today and after trying to assist with clearing it up, I'm not sure we could have done anything differently. I definitely won't be sending my kids into 3 Arrows Dairy Prebbleton on their own in the future. Today the lady was volatile and behaved in a way that was concerning and didn't quite make sense to me.
