Failed a WOF on a leaking front shock absorber. Had a new one put. Experienced some noise and stiffness when turning the wheel completely, came back, they put some WD40 and said it will loosen up with time. A year later failed WOF again in an independent WOF testing facility, went to a trustworthy mechanic to be told the shock had not been properly mounted and was completely worn out. Had another put in and surprised to more stiffness and noises.

These guys did extensive work on our Holden Commodore, timing chain, oil pump, among other things. They were very clear through the entire process as to what needed to happen and left us under no illusion about cost. We have used several mechanics around the Timaru area and none of them even came close to the service offered by the team here. Would highly recommend anyone needing a vehicle service to consult these blokes before even considering any other workshop EDIT - Took my vehicle back to these guys as they did a great job on a large repair a year ago. Took our vehicle to them with the parts needed for replacement of the shock absorbers. It took 3 attempts and the shock absorbers are still not fitted correctly. So I would definitely NOT recommend anyone take their vehicle here after this shambles. Let me be very clear, ALL parts required for the shock absorbers were supplied but the job was, and has been, done very haphazardly. Clear problems and can see where specific washers and mounts have been fitted incorrectly. So in summing up, if they can whack their exuberant % on top for parts, you are treated very well. If you supply your own parts, well then your parts aretreated extremely poorly. Almost to the point where I am considering asking for them to replace them as the shock absorbers were fitted without boots initially. Now the boots are there but with no retaining utilities to hold them in position. As such, the boots have fallen and are slopping around the shock absorbers and not keeping any dust out of the shocks. This is likely causing premature wear and tear on a product that has a 3 year warranty. Time will tell if their failings have ruined my shock absorbers warranty too!
