My partner does not have a google account but insisted I post this review on his behalf: - Graham is a man of integrity and I have a huge amount of respect for the way he conducts his business and looks after his customers. I came to Footstep Shoe Repairs after seeing the abundance of positive reviews with the intention of getting my 10 day old boots stretched. I had the unfortunate circumstance of having been incorrectly sized for a pair of R.M. Williams boots (comfort craftsmen) at a big retailer in Christchurch They were too tight in the pinky toes and causing me significant pain. I was talked out of buying the size that felt comfortable in store by the sales clerk (the wider fit) for the normal fit as I was assured the boots would "stretch". A warning to prospective buyers - they don't! I only had the boots for 10 days and they were causing me agony and my ever so slightly larger right foot was not thanking me. Graham took one look at my boots and after telling him the above he immediately advised me to take the boots back to the retailer I bought them from and try to return them. He didn't take a dime off me. He said they was no guarantee the stretching would work and he felt I had the wrong size, and it was in my best interest to take them back. Graham also noticed a defect in the leather and it was beginning to crack at the crease lines, another reason to return them. I brought the boots back to the retailer, to my surprise they re-sized me, took the boots back, offered a replacement free of charge, and spent 1.5 hours with me in store to get the right size. Turns out my gut feeling in store was correct, to get the wider fit, however I also had the opportunity to try on their dynamic flex model, which was FAR more comfortable. A week down the track I now have an excellent pair of boots, they can't even be remotely compared to what I originally had, the difference is night and day, and they are a perfect fit for my feet, extremely comfortable and look amazing. If it wasn't for Graham's advice, his integrity, and offering me the best advice (in my best interest, not his), I would probably still have a pair of stretched uncomfortable boots. He essentially saved me $750 (the price of the boots!) and never asked anything in return. On top of all of this, he helped me find a second pair of quality boots (McKinleys), pointed me in the right direction, I got them for an extremely reasonable price, and then he helped me achieve best fitting with a set of insoles all for $10. Undoubtedly, one of the best customer experiences I have ever had to date and I wouldn't hesitate taking your footwear to Graham.
