Woolshed Creek Hut

Beautiful spot. Starts with a nice walk slowly up through the beech tree forest and eventually you come out above the trees and get the spectacular views around the valleys. Only really hard if your pack is super heavy. Kids as young as 5 can walk up the track without issue. The hut accommodation is great, tidy with a warm log fire and a stream nearby. If hut is fully occupied don't expect much sleep sharing the 2 rooms with so many in a small space but to be expected when tramping.

Absolutely great hike and kids friendly. We chose to take harder part on the way there and didn't take 4WD track. Instead climbed steeply to the highest point. Woolshed Creed Hut has a ranger so make sure you have your booking confirmation with you. There is plenty of water from creek, and we didn't boil. The water didn't taste the best. Luckily no tummy bugs for us. On the way home we took 4WD track and it was much more faster. Good for our 4year old son as he was exhausted from previous day hike. Be ready for steep parts, especially if you will walk with young kids, but there is a few distractions along the way up.

Really nice place! The hut is huge, plenty of room to eat, cook, sleep (26 bunk beds in 2 seprate rooms). There is water but not drinkable. Firewood place inside. Litlle creek just next to the hut and Emerald Pools about 10min walking xhere you can swim. You can go to Pinnacles hut from there (about 6km). Miner's track to get to the hut is really beautiful! Stunning views all around, relaxing place.
