Silverstream Alpaca Farmstay & Farm Tour

What an absolutely wonderful afternoon spent with the Alpacas and Benedict our guide. He was excellent and gave us such a lot of information about them. We really enjoyed our conversations with him. The Alpacas are great, even though one of them did spit at me, we got to feed them, cuddle them and walk around the fields. The young ones are so lovely, I could have taken one home with me, he kept following me around. Some lovely photos taken. I loved just feeling the fleece in the shed, very therapeutic. Had a one night stay in Silverstream alpaca farmstay. We enjoyed our stay there and had a fantastic experience interacting with the Alpacas! Makes me want to moveout of the city and live in the farmlands. Kit was a wonderful host! His story of his journey to becoming an Alpaca farm owner, to guiding us on how to interact with Alpacas was interesting and fun! Cottage was spacious and comfortable. There's a small kitchen for cooking, else you can go to nearby restaurants for your meals. Definitely recommend!

We had a lot of fun with the alpacas and we had an amazing experience staying here. Owners are very friendly and we had a very informative tour with the alpacas. The accomodation is very spacious and comfortable with great wifi, strong shower and comfortable beddings. Breakfast provided to us was more than adequate with breads, cereal, juice, milk, eggs and fruits. If you are looking to experience a farmstay in Christchurch, this is definitely a great option.
