Mahaanui Farmstay Experience

The farm was very remote and beautiful. About 1km of gravel road to get the the farm. Sally and Simon are most accommodating and warm - I was a solo traveler and they let me stay in their 10-person quarters which have got everything you could possibly need. They even took me to the hills to watch them herd sheep (very intelligent, well mannered dogs). Couldn't recommend it enough. Best regards to Sally and Simon, take care.

Just amazing. No words to describe the location, the farm and our host. Simon and Sally you were great you made us feel at home even though we were miles away from home. Thanks for letting us watch the sheep shearing and being so patient with my 3 yr old he loved it and so did we. Definitely coming back soon. To people who are looking for place to relax much recommended and also I must mention we had box of tasty homemade cookies waiting on arrival.

My partner and I really needed a quiet and peaceful getaway and this was exactly that. We were greeted by a very friendly farm owner - Simon who kindly packed our gear onto an off-road vehicle and took us over a very picturesque landscape to the hidden away Farmstay. The accomodation is nestled within lots of old trees with a view of the Hangaroa river nearby. We were surprised with freshly baked bread and a platter to enjoy upon arrival. I would 110% recommend this stay for anyone who wishes to get a farm experience, and retreat to somewhere peaceful to rest, rejuvenate and recharge. Thanks Simon and Sally! We really appreciate the communication and support right from the beginning. Enjoy!
