        A beautiful place and a lovely beach. If youre a backpacker looking for farm work then this is the place as it has a variety of working hostels and places to work such as fruit packhouses, orchards, vineyards and tree nurseries. A lovely beach also with mini golf on the parade. Lots of places to eat and supermarkets. Small market on a sunday available too.

        I travelled in January 2023 from taupo to napier. The bus was due to leave at 3pm. Everyone boarded and was ready to go. We stayed put. It turned out the bus from Wellington was late and had 2 passengers for our bus. The driver tried to get permission to leave those passengers for a later service. This permission was granted after 45 odd minutes. Complete waste of 20 passengers time. We left without them anyway.
