Brilliant hot pools well done DOC! 3 pools that you fill on arrival and overlooking the river. About 4hrs walk from the Carpark. 45mins from the hut.

Awesome little hot springs and campsite located 45 minutes walk upstream of Te Puia Lodge on the Te Puia Trail. The hot springs consist of three tubs built into a large wooden deck. Each tub can be filled with thermally heated water using taps and drained for cleaning using valves, both located next to the tubs. The water temperature was perfect when we visited and the Mohaka River is nearby for a cold dip to cool down after a soak in the hot pools. Absolutely stunning location and a great way to end the day after a beautiful walk in the Kaweka Forest Park.

Awesome spot in the middle of nowhere. This is a great place to visit and well worth the visit. The pools are about a 40 minute reasonable easy walk from te puia lodge. The pools do tend to go a bit green but there are scrubbing brushes there to give the pools a quick scub. Would be better if the trees didnt block out so much of the sky. The night sky on a clear night is spectacular.
