This beach is well worth the drive if youre staying near Napier and want some sand instead of pebbles. The river flowing to the ocean is a great alternative if you want avoid the crashing waves with the littles. Waves were great for boogie boarding, body surfingask the things! Sad I didnt plan to be there for the whole day.

Golden sands that don't burn your feet on a hot sunny day. Popular out of the way beach with nice clean sand and a small lagoon available to paddle in, a great place to relax in the sun and the sea air. Not often I have come across golden sands on my travels around New Zealand.
