Moonshine Valley Reserve

David's review is clearly that of the Tutukiwi Reserve, not the Moonshine Valley Reserve which is obviously neglected or abandoned, with just one overgrown track to be found. The entrance is difficult to find and there is no place to park other than on the road.

A relatively unknown reserve, home to a predator free project and a regenerating native bush and birdlife. Lots of tranquil trails to enjoy as well as a little creek and a couple of ponds. Having grown up in Palmerston North we spent many happy days biking and exploring all the many parks, walks and rides but hadnt found this one until returning as an adult with my own little family. One of the favourite things Ive learned about growing up in Palmy is that you really learn how to create your own fun. Thats why these reserves and parks make me so happy. I hope the next generation enjoys and benefits from them as much as we did.
