Nice walk. Really windy to start with but once you get into the bush you are fine. You can get some great photos of the Gorge from up top.

A secret must-see on the northern island. You step through the entrance and follow the road, walk beneath a small bridge and suddenly - your in the middle of the forest! A fine walk through beautiful nature, and normally you're alone here with the birds and trees. From the top of the walkway you have a beautiful view above the land and the gorge...

A lovely walk! I did the Tawa Loop with my son. The first half is uphill, a little steeper than I expected, but we managed to do it in the minimum time so we could have been slower.
