        It was a busy night, so understandable for a wait. We tried the diningroom for a sit down meal. Good value fish of the day with chips and a couple of fried eggs and a side salad, cup of tea, or instant coffee, plus buttered bread. The fish was cooked just right, and the chips were not greasy. Just perfect!

        Nowhere else had better chips, fresher fish, nor the legendary reputation that was Whanganui's family favourite, George's fisheries. And then George left, along with everything that made George's the best. I wish the new owners had changed the name of the shop instead of capitalising on George's name, and ruining the reputation that was George's legacy. Or they could just do better.
