        Found this place on our last visit, and was so happy as just like an English pub. Craft beer and Guinness on tap. Food was excellent and will definitely visit again Great staff friendly and helpful

        Rooms: Mine was very spacious. High ceilings so may need lots heating in winter, Nearby activities: Didn't explore myself, but very central to City locations such as Art Gallery and Gardens Safety: I felt safe in Whanganui. Has lots of gardens. Walkability: Central area is flat and walkable. But hills on either side. Food & drinks: Tasty meals prepared on premises. Restaurant very busy with locals.

        We stayed one night at the Rutland Arms and had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. The staff were excellent. The beer was fantastic and the food was great. Absolutely recommend the bar and restaurant. The room was good if a little worn. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean and tidy. The shower was disappointing, reminding me of older hotels in England. Very low water pressure - but it was hot and clean.
