        We booked the Waimaire for my 50th birthday, it was heaps of fun. We had the whole boat to ourselves. We pre ordered lunches that came in colorful paper bags. We stopped and went to the local Cafe for cake (which the cafe had made for my bday) and then we tried gin tasting at the local distillery. It was lovely traveling up and down the river and hearing stories about the history of Whanganui over the speaker. If you want to do something different for your birthday I would highly recommend.
