VERY interesting experience climbing up through the fully functional windmill. Friendly and informative staff. Lovely range of Dutch treats to choose from - and a variety of flours ground on the premises.

Very well presented to the public.. $3 charge for adults to climb up those steep ladders.. well worth the price when you go up.. Awesome engineering to use Wind power into Mechanical Energy and use it to make wheat powder.. Visited this place few years ago and it wasn't open to public.. But now I highly recommend everyone passing FOXTON to visit De Melon WindMill..

A wonderful choice of Dutch cheese made in Holland along with some made in NZ using Dutch recipes. Olives are beautiful my choice is the chili. You also have Dutch foods, licorice, biscuits and the like so many things to look at not to Mention the wonderful windmill. Staff lovely and helpful. I go each time I'm in Foxton but if you are just passing through its worth Stop
