The salesman who came over had no idea what he was doing and talked a load of rubbish including negative things about other garage builders including saying they have a scam going. However I believe this company is a scam. The salesman told me I would have to get the permits myself (Among other things). He wanted a deposit straight away and told me that if it doesn't get a permit they will keep my deposit. When I read the quote it was for an unreinforced foundation. This would have definitely not have gotten a permit. So then what? I lose my deposit or pay whatever they tell me to to add reinforcing. This is my 3rd garage build and it was the first time to take a quote from Versatile and it will be the last.

We had a very poor experience with Versatile Palmerston North, more exactly FICO Ltd who currently own the franchise. The build is littered with multiple issues, the sales process was tedious, the salesperson was more interested in telling us about their life than helping us along the purchasing process. Timeliness were shoddy, we were originally told we could be in by March and didn't end up moving in until August. The build quality is average at best. The aftercare is atrocious, the company has basically washed their hands of us and will not remedy any of the issues. The major issue being that the house was built over 1m in the wrong place on the section... Exercise great caution if building with this company, there's a reason they are one of the cheaper ones.
