Had an amazing trip to the Kaitawa Farm. Nick was an excellent hosts, rooms were super clean, provided a travel cot. You might be lucky to get a tour of the farm - we saw chickens, pigs, sheep, lambs and alpacas!

This is a stunning property and awesome hosts. Kate's family is an extremely hospitable host. We were greeted with warm smiles as well as a warm homemade loaf of bread and fresh milk. This gem of a modern retreat is set in a classic rural New Zealand farm and provides the comfort of a resort, with comfy hotel-grade beds and modern living, kitchenette and toilet facilities. The highlight is the fireplace in the lounge where one can cosy up and enjoy the farm view that opens up for acres, looking out towards Kapiti Coast that presents a lovely sunset with unimaginable colours in the sky. This is one of the few properties that is specifically catered for infants and children, as the hosts provide a portable baby crib, high-chair, baby monitor and children's books and toys - the host themselves have a toddler and an infant and they truly understand our needs with a baby. There are two queen beds -one in the lounge and another in the bedroom and is able to host 4 guest comfortably. Coffee and tea is provided along with the necessary whiteware as well as kettle, toaster and microwave oven. There is a patio right outside the lounge with a BBQ grill. The parking facility is right next to the property and there is no issue with accessibility. The decor of this cosy cottage is simple but modern and chic. The host showed us around their vegetable gardens and introduced us to their farm animals, and Flur their dog. There is a swimming hole nearby and heaps of opportunities for nature walks. To get to the property, you'll have to drive over a bridge that crosses the Otaki River from Otaki Gorge Road onto Kaitawa Road - that crossing gives a magical introduction to this magical farm experience that awaits ahead. We were completely relaxed and rejuvenated during our stay, and the weather was fresh and crisp and yet so comfortable despite being the peak of winter. This farm getaway is value for money and extremely impressive that we can escape to a rural and nature spot that is just 5-mins away from the SH1 at Te Horo and an-hour's drive from Wellington City! Highly recommended for families, nature-lovers and soul-seekers!
