I had an hour before my flight today, so sat down with a large flat white coffee at 1pm. At about 1.45pm, I decided to buy something to eat before boarding at 2.25pm. I ordered a ham & cheese quiche to be brought to my table, plus a sparkling water, $12.50. Five minutes later, the youngish red-head who took my money brought over a squashed, lame looking - what I thought was - a ham & cheese panini. I didn't notice immediately, but then i did and went back and spoke to the redhead, stating I had ordered 'a ham & cheese quiche', and could I please have what I ordered. She immediately became defensive and appearing incensed - rudely hissed back ' No! You ordered a ham & cheese croissant'!! I was taken aback. I retorted: 'I speak French and I know I didn't order a 'croissant' as I 'wouldn't mispronounce it like you're doing'. Much to my utter disbelief, she continued to argue that I ordered a 'croissant!! I bloody well didn't order one, but she didn't care. I waited for my quiche to arrive back at my table, and when it didn't I went back up to the cafe counter & asked another staff member about it, informing her that her colleague has NO customer service skills and was argumentative. She apologised which was gladly received. The redhead in question then brought out a brown paper bag to-go, because my flight was boarding by now. I assumed it held my quiche and went down the escalator. Much to my disbelief, the beligerent redhead placed another squashed croissant in the bag! I didn't have time to confront her over it, but I was incredulous the redhead thought it was OK to argue with a customer about their food selection! The appropriate and professional thing to do was to say "I'm so sorry I made a mistake. I obviously didn't hear you correctly," and then bring out the correct food selection. Arguing with paying customers is a definite no-no. Customer Service 101 I would have thought. I cannot believe her bad attitude! She came across as a spoiled, entitled millennial.

My flight was delayed so I was in the upstairs lounge for quite some time on Friday, 23/12/22. While there I had the opportunity to watch the staff and mingle with the patrons in the Cafe. Many patrons who ordered coffees weren't served them in the Cafe's coffee cups but takeaway cups. Using the excuse that they had run out of cups when clearly there were cups sitting on their coffee machine! The Bacon & Egg Muffin Split which I ordered was dry the egg and bacon was like rubber definitely not freshly made in the kitchen! When it was brought to my table the waitress dropped it on the floor. Apologized and said that she would get me a replacement. Well I wonder if she actually did... she returned 2 minutes later with a Bacon & Egg Muffin Split. When I questioned this with a staff member I was told that it was a fresh one but not freshly made in the kitchen as all there produce is prepared beforehand.
