        Rimu Park Mountain Lodge is a quaint 114 year old Mountain Lodge in the New Zealand town of Ohakune. It is idyllicly nestled beneath the towering trio of Mount Ruapehu, Tongariro and Narahoi, close to the Tongariro ski chairlift. It has 7 well-heated, clean and comfortable bedrooms ( some bunks) in the main lodge and some outside, a lovely shared lounge room ,a large communal kitchen/dining and several shared bathrooms. The owner, Braden is very welcoming and dedicated to his guests enjoyment and comfort. We had a fun time there even though it was raining. There are several forest and river walks nearby and two excellent restaurants within a 5 minute walk. The rail station of Ohakune is 150 metres walk. We especially enjoyed the outdoor hot tubs which were available for a small extra charge.
