Manuka Lodge Ohakune

We made an impromptu trip to Ohakune, over Labour weekend and were very warmly received by Alan and Susie at the lodge. They are super-friendly and we had some lovely conversations over a home-cooked breakfast that I would describe as thoughtfully prepared and delicious. Thanks to their suggestions and advice, we could make the most of our short stay in Ohakune, with lovely bush walks in Ohakune and a trek upto the Taranaki waterfall through Tongariro bush and native grass; even getting an opportunity to go up Mount Ruapehu and watch the skiers in action on the last day of ski season! The room in the lodge was very comfortable and tastefully designed and it was clear that a lot of thought had gone into even the littlest details. The bathroom was modern and neat. We came back with some homemade honey, good memories and two new friends in Alan and Susie! Looking forward to visiting there again and we'd certainly recommend them to anyone looking to travel upto Ohakune. :-)

Wonderful place to stay. The house is so comfortable, cosy and clean!!! The host are excellent. They always help you and explain whatever you need from NZ history!!! They have a wonderful lodge!!! In addition they have an excellent fireplace!!! Congratulations!!!

We really enjoyed our stay at Manuka Lodge! The hosts Alan and Susie are warm, friendly and welcoming. They made us feel at home and provided everything that we needed. A delicious cooked breakfast, with home made bread was the cherry on the top. The Lodge is cozy, comfortable, neat and very clean. We thoroughly enjoyed the spa, it was just what we needed after a day in the snow. We left feeling relaxed and refreshed and will definitely be back. Thank you Alan and Susie!
