Dempsey Buses

just want to give a massive shoutout to all the lovely drivers at Dempseys. I was hiking the tongariro northern circuit, and forgot to organise transport to and from the hike (Doh!). I called Dempseys a day before and they saved me! On the day I was due to start the hike, a driver even took me up in his personal truck - as a bus wasnt running up to the alpine crossing that day because of the bad weather. 10/10 would recommend this terrific service. Affordable, reliable and run by a bunch of lifesavers

Being the first time to the mountains we called demsey to find out when there buses go up the mountains and what mountains and the cost we got told don't bother there's nothing open so why would you want to go up there and the 2hung up these people recommended to us but I wouldn't recommend them to anybody

Not very friendly on the phone, and emails reminded unanswered, but on the day itself it was alright. We took a one way trip to Mangetepopo. Not overly excited staff but it gets the job done.

Our group of 15 was met at Whakapapa Village, taken up to the start of the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, and picked up at the end. Our shuttle driver Megan was excellent - perfect for the job. She was positive, professional, and friendly and took great care to explain what we needed to know and to reassure us that we would not be left on the mountain, no matter what happened and when. Highly recommended!!
