My friend and I travelled from Nelson to Blenheim and found this gem on our first night. We had pick of where we wanted to park up and pitch our tent. We perched next to a gorgeous walnut tree with a picnic table. We skipped rocks at the stream and spent the nights playing darts in the camp Saloon. A lot of characters, but friendly and homely, and looked out for us. Stewart was looking after the office - he was friendly and down to earth and left us to enjoy our stay. Lyall was a nice man who lived at the camp and helped us find our way about the camp amenities with a smile. We went to another camp site but returned to Waves at 10pm after an odd feeling... and Stewart saved the day and was happy for us to rock up and make ourselves at home. We stayed another 2 nights. Honestly it was quirky and small town, down to earth vibes- with some characters but we absolutely loved it and it felt like home away from home. Thanks everyone, we had a blast. P.s. wifi available hot shower good water pressure, clean toilets, good kitchen, washing machine and dryer available $4 cycles, and a cool indoor hang out spot.
