The Mussel Pot Restaurant

I get the hype, however my experience will not be remembered as fondly as others. Service was pleasant enough considering volume of customers in for service. Younger server sneezed over us while taking order which was off- putting to say the least. Ate an early dinner and continued on to Nelson for accomodation where all I could do was go to bed with a stomach ache. I was unable to keep my food down and unfortunately was very ill overnight. Charcoal tablets helped! Please dont respond and try to dismiss my experience like you have others. I had not eaten anything else during the day as this was a meal I had been looking forward to for a long time. Avoid the chowder.

We drove from Blenheim just to have Mussels at Mussel Pot. They did not disappoint. The food was gorgeous and extremely tasty. We had the Mussel Chowder which was loaded with tons of mussels and mussels platter with a mixture of streamed, pickled, fried, with melted cheese, sweet chili sauce and cream sauce mussels. So delicious . Worth the trip for sure .
