A friend of mine is terminally ill and I was told he had been admitted to the Blenheim Hospice. I arrived at the Hospice hoping to see him at 10:20am on a Saturday morning. Unfortunately, the Hospice was closed. The doors wouldn't open, all the lights were out and there was no one at reception. There was no sign to indicate visiting hours and there was nothing to indicate when the Hospice would next be open, there wasn't even a contact telephone number on the door. As there was no one there, we left. I feel this is atrocious service for the terminally ill, their family and friends. The Hospice should take responsibility for keeping the public informed. A simple sign could have informed us of our options, rather than leaving us in the dark.
