A good ramp pitch with good turn around access. Best at high tide as it gets a shallow at Low. Only one side of the ramp has a pontoon which makes it easy for your passengers to board. There is a long drop toilet (can be a bit whiffy and untidy) and changing rooms. Limited parking so getting there early is best especially during the busy season. Alternatives are to beach launch at Te Ngaere Bay, Taupo Bay or Matauri. Would be great if the regional council reclaimed a bit more land for parking, added another pontoon and extended the ramp for deeper low tide access. Would be happy to pay a parking permit to help fund the development. The biggest demand for the ramp anecdotally comes from outside of the region.
