We were SO GLAD we decided to try Gringas when staying in Mangawhai! The restaurant is clean, bright and stylish. The young staff were polite, friendly and accommodating. But the food was AMAZING! The serves were extremely generous. We tried the chips and queso dip - both were delicious and the staff brought extra corn chips to finish the dip. The quesadilla was yummy served with sour cream and lettuce. And the Cali style burrito was huge and tasty, with guacamole, chips, chicken, salsa and sour cream. For dessert, if you enjoy churros, you MUST try Gringas churros! They were crispy outside and fluffy inside, served with caramel and chocolate sauce - To. Die. For! Thoroughly recommend this great restaurant!

Arrived at opening time 3 pm hungry and thirsty. Welcomed with a happy hour Margarita and beer which were both super tasty. Followed by amazing dip, pulled pork tacos then shared a crunchy burrito thingy. Awesome. Happy hour 3 to 5 pm. Food fresh. Would come back if we were staying for longer.

Prices and portion sizes where good, food was pretty generic mexican. Staff friendly. Real let down was they for some reason weren't doing tacos. We where only told this as we went to order them. With these off the menu, the menu is very small.
