Signature Homes Whangarei & Northland

Built one house through them, now just signing for a 2nd. Big mistake. Wouldn't use them again.

We recently had a house built with signature homes northland. Would not recommend anyone use them, very poor workmanship, hardly a straight/ plumb wall or door jam in the house. Tiles in bathroom are not flat( steps in tiles). Apparently the tiles were not all the same thickness on our walk through, haha what a joke. All windows leaked where window met the soffit when they washed the house ( no flashing or trim along top of windows where they meet the soffit) they then did a silicon seal to waterproof! Pretty sure thats not as per building code. Soffits rattle in wind as remedial work was not done, not nailed up fully and meant to have 2x nails per fixing due to very high wind zone. Paint on the interior was meant to be level 4, had a reputable, well known house painting company look at it, they think its Level 2-3 at best. Paint comes off with sticking tape on the walls and doors. Door jams and architraves where not glued before being nailed, so paint cracks and moves. We went 9-10 week at one time without any builders on site, then the most we ever saw them was 2-3 days per week if lucky. Was a very stressful build as I was constantly pulling them up on very poor workmanship. The original builder was not helpful, bordering on aggressive when I pointed out serious problems and did not fix them. In the end we just wanted them to hand over the house and get out so we just signed off even with all the defects. Building your first house is suppose to be fun(maybe a bit of stress from time to time) but to be honest we where more happpy and relieved to be rid of Signature homes that actually moving in.

We had a great experience with the team. The initial design process was a treat and resulted in relatively few variations. The communication was clear, and the project management was well coordinated. They also went the extra mile to get us in before Christmas which was very much appreciated (despite several external factors affecting all builders at this time). built with signature homes all good apart from ceiling was damaged by kitchen installer they tried to repaint but it still show they said they come fix after a year when the do remedial work other thing was got lots of cracks in drive they said nothing they can do about it but been down street and not one other driveway got cracks in
