Lovely location with stunning views over Bay of Islands. Theo was very welcoming and helpful in suggesting things to do. Apartment was spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. Terrace overlooked the bay and was a lovely place to listen to the waves lapping the shore of the beach below. Access up and down a steep (1 in 3.6) drive with tight bends was not for the faint hearted. Theo helped in booking the Bay of Islands boat trip the highlight of which was seeing a pod of bottle nose dolphins- plus magnificent scenery. Would highly recommend as a peaceful place to stay.

This is an amazing place to stay in Paihia as its just outside the town on a hill overlooking a beach and small island just off Sullivans Beach. Comfortable, quiet and clean, it has all you need plus there were kayaks on offer and the info booklet inside said a sauna although this wasnt mentioned by our friendly host Theo. The bubbles on arrival was a nice touch despite being non-alcoholic. After a drive from Auckland a little more strength mightve been appreciated Theo was a great host-lots of good intel and he even booked a tour for us. Walking into town via rocks/beach was fun but a bit hairy in the dark and around high tide. Driving down/up the steep driveway to the parking spot is ok but for infrequent users is a little challenging but a minor issue compared to where you end up. We swam in the beautiful waters, had a BBQ and enjoyed drinks on the veranda watching the boats go by as the sun set.

We were greeted by Sopha and Theo with a bottle of bubbly in the fridge and great warmth. We spent the most delightful four days in their appartment with everything one could need and surrounded by comfortable furniture and pictures. Other than nipping out to buy some food we pretty much stayed put. The view is amazing and the balcony large enough to sit or lie on. The little path leads down to an almost private beach, as it is cut off by high tide, and we swam every day. An idyllic start to our tour of NZ and thank you both for your hospitality.
