        Not as well known as some historical sites in Northland, our family have been here twice and loved both visits. The highlight each time has been the knowledgeable staff. They have had the time to give us lots of information as well as the opportunity to browse around by ourselves. Other highlight - if you've read (or will read) the book "Lizzie, Love" to your children, about the young Elizabeth Kemp / Clarke, visiting this site and the Stone Store / Kemp House makes history come alive - story plus physical place = magic! And we discovered something while wandering in the cemetery beside the church at Te Waimate...
