Excellent NZ bush, great tracks, well marked with some rough spots, I recommend wearing boots, maybe with tricounis for the slippery parts

We did the 5 hour Taraire Ridge Track, a really challenging walk through the native forest. We would recommend that walk in a clockwise direction as this is the easiest gradient, and follow the orange arrows. A hiking pole maybe needed on some quite slippery trails.
