The Thai

Surprisingly good Thai restaurant especially given the scarcity of local food outlets. We had the Pad Thai & the fried fish. Pad Thai is pretty much the same regardless of where you go. The fish was unusual in that it was pieces of fish as opposed to a full fish. All in all, a good example of a Thai restaurant in a surprising setting.

We were a pre booked table of 6 The standard of the food was excellant The service was substandard ,no communication or apologies for staggered entrees or slow service .(admittedly the Restaurant was busy and there was a large group before us .) It was a cold night .We were seated next to the door which kept swinging open and the draft was terrible ,constantly jumping up and down to close door .. At 8.30 we were replete and paid ,. Close to leaving when "the manager" flung the restaurant door open .One of my party of 6 requested the door be closed because of the draft ."The manager "grumbled that it was hot in the kitchen and they needed the air and was rude enough to say,very loudly "arent you leaving ?" Unforgivable Rudeness .!Hospitality No No ..!! When the rest of my group departed I went back and spoke to the manager politely about her rudeness and how inappropriate it was .I dont believe She took it seriously at all ,certainly didnt apologise ! ..(.could learn some manners from the the large very polite table full of Hells Angels that were also dining in that evening !)
