When it feels like you are in the middle of nowhere, you fo not always expect the small local cafe to have much to offer, but this place was excellent and we'd go out of our way to back when we're next in the vicinity. Oat milk cappuccino, scone, wrap, and polenta fries all very good. Scone still tasted 'fresh' and it was late on a Sunday. Thank you... see you next time!

An oasis of civilisation at the back of a non-descript shopping centre, allowing you to forget about the rest of the world for an hour or so

We discovered this wee gem while on our first drive to Whangarei Heads, and it was a brilliant place to stop off for much-required morning snack and caffeine. We're planning to come back for mains, but what I mostly want to say is this: THE COFFEE IS FIRST CLASS! My latte was strong (important) and just perfectly made, so top marks to the barista. The sweet snacks we bought were tasty, fresh and clearly made with love on the premises. The place itself is in a fairly ordinary small shopping centre, and yet you walk in the door and the cafe has its own slightly rustic vibe and suddenly you could be in Italy (or somewhere else in Europe). We loved it, and will be back.
