        Beautiful area, beach was lovely and safe for the kids. The campground was well kept and clean. Camp hosts were friendly and happy to chat whenever we saw them. Would definitely recommend this campground as a place to get away and reconnect with nature and loved ones.

        We went for camping at Puriri bay. It was a remote place surrounded by mountains and a lake. The place was great except for the toilet and shower room. price is cheap though so you would not expect a very clean comfort rooms.

        One of our favourite DOC camps. Family-friendly beach, safe swimming. Very helpful staff keep the grounds & facilities in excellent order. Book exchange in office. Most sites level & grassed. Cold showers only (take your own solar shower), toilets available. Potable water but no filling tanks by hose. Check in time at all DOC camps is after 2pm, vacate by 11am. No rubbish bins from Feb 2023.

        Some wonderful Beachfront sites. Flat. Ex facilities with cold showers, mechanism to enable hanging of solar showers. Custodians are friendly and helpful. They keep the facilities very clean. Great fishing and swimming.
