If you are a first home buyer or have a Kiwisaver $350k cap, then I dont recommend you use these guys. Firstly they are really expensive, I had a valuation done by them 6 months ago (on a property I didn't end up buying) and it cost $500, nearly fell over when they told me this recent valuation was $650! Also if you require a valuation for the bank, you will be wasting your money. Garton say they are up to play on the current housing market here in Whangarei, but they are not, basing their valuations on properties that were sold 3 months ago, which is useless in this fast paced property market, but equally frustrating, not taking into consideration the high demand for good properties within the $300-350k range because of the government enforced cap on first home buyers using Kiwisaver. I suggest asking the real estate agent or bank for advice on choosing a Valuer, which I wish I had done.
