Merchant 1948 Whangarei

I took my elderly mother into the Whangarei store today to buy another pair of Deuce shoes. 2 staff members were present however they were not very interested in serving us. Upon choosing a style of shoe we asked for the size & was presented with one only shoe to put on. There was no help from the young assistant with trying this shoe on. We tried on another type of shoe & I had to ask for the matching shoe. While I was helping Mum get into the shoe the young girl was leaning on the counter talking to the other colleague. 2 other customers came into the shop & were ignored for some time. We decided to purchase the shoes so I put them on the counter & waited to be acknowledged. I ended up asking for some service as it was not forth coming from either lady. I would have walked out but my mum needed these shoes for a upcoming trip. I have owned my own retail business for many years so I found this customer service deplorable. I suggest some serious training in customer service is in order. Colleen Hodgetts

I walked in the store and barely even got a hello. Two staff members more interested in chatting to eachother then asking if I needed a hand. Poor form! Please do better.

Excellent service from Emily. Switched on regarding the particular specs for the sandals required for my mother. She provided an outstanding option, and was very considerate and flexible in applying the discount promotion to accommodate our particular circumstances. The sandals themselves were outstanding. Ended up buying 2 as per the promotion.
