The missus and I ordered the rib shack platter and loved it. Especially the in-house made crab dip. It's my second time eating there and enjoyed it just as much as the first so I can kinda say that they're consistent based on my 2 visits. Very fair pricing as well compared to others and I really wish they had a Jimmy Jack's in Auckland.

They need to take food intolerances/allergies seriously. I checked if the ribs had any dairy in the sauce before ordering. The first waitress was very nice and happily checked in the kitchen and came back and said no there wasn't. I ordered the ribs and after eating noticed my ribs had been served differently than my husband's...mine had the sauce on the side while his was served with the sauce on top. Fearful that I had consumed a sauce with dairy I asked the waitress who came to clear the dishes (different from the first) whether there had been dairy in the sauce as mine was served separately. She said it would've been just as a precaution ?!? When I asked what she meant (as to me there was either dairy or there wasn't) she literally rolled her eyes as she stomped off to ask the kitchen. She came back to say what she said before that it was just a precaution. She further explained that there may have been traces of dairy in the sauce. If the recipient isn't told about this "precaution " than how can it be a precaution? I suppose Jimmy Jacks was never going to be a good choice for those of us who suffer from intolerances but it was my husband's dining choice as it was his birthday. He enjoyed his meal and I didn't want to make a fuss at the time. It's hard enough having intolerances without staff making you feel like you're an inconvenience. For some it could literally mean a trip to the hospital.
