As a first time customer, when I picked up my online order Click and Collect the staff were very nice and helped me get my product into my car. However, I did not realise I'd been given the wrong one (Makita products look very similar!) I unboxed my product when I got home and used it. The following day I received three phone calls in a row, a voicemail message saying I have to return the product because they gave me the wrong one, followed by another phone call as I was listening to the voicemail. I was able to take the call from the store manager who was so rude! He said I had to return the product that day (Saturday) so they can give it to the correct customer. He gave no apology or showed any kind of responsibility that this was not only an inconvenience to me but also not my fault. I told him I didn't realise I had been given the wrong product and that I had already used it. He basically said he didn't care and I have to return it anyway to give it to the other customer. I replied saying as I am pretty sure under the consumers act that if an online order received is incorrect I do not have to return it and I'm sure the customer will not accept a used product. He got very frustrated, raised his voice at me and mentioned straight after I said that he will contact the companies lawyers if I do not return it. I just couldn't believe it, making me feel like I had stolen the item which was NOT the case. I said I understand what he's saying, asked him to not raise his voice at me and be so rude about it and then asked if I return it and the other customer rejects it what then happens with the product and he said it will be returned to the warehouse and "dealt with". I understand it was a mistake and human error, however the package did not have any customer details on it and I am just appalled by the Managers customer service. I've been in retail a great deal and the customer is always right when the store or staff had been in the wrong or made a mistake. Sorry, but I will not be purchasing another product from the toolshed.
