This is an amazing establishment, warm and friendly welcome with a good introduction to Clyde and the historic building. A lovely quiet cottage garden and cosy private room, with a shared kitchen and bathroom. All rooms open onto a partially enclosed veranda. The breakfast was a perfect start to a day of cycling, and Leanne was happy to set it up the night before (in the fridge) for our 5am departure. Laundry facilities at an extra charge were also a relief to us. We had a lovely time here, and would certainly come back.

Clyde can get cold, but the beds at the Hartley Arms are warm and soft, loaded with fine linen and lovely warm quilts and blankets. The rooms are old miners quarters, lovingly upgraded for modern comfort without losing their history. They give onto an open vine-draped loggia to a cute little shared bathroom and a separate, spotless kitchen. Leanne the owner provides her own delicious preserved fruit with the continental breakfast. It's in the middle of Clyde, and convenient to everything. We liked it so much, we went back.
