Ive only been riding an MTB for 3 years, and stick to the easier trails, but this was still one of the best things Ive done in 4 trips to Queenstown now. The tracks are well marked out, and pretty easy to follow, and the green and blue trails should be well within the abilities of most beginner and intermediate riders. Even on a peak Sunday it was still not too busy, and I rarely had to make way for the kids blasting down the trails. The one bottleneck is the gondola. They prioritise the day trippers, meaning the MTB queue was rarely under 20 minutes once you hit the bottom. That last bit down through a construction site is also tricky, and at the top you have to push through walkways and barriers to get to the trails. But this should all be fixed when the new higher capacity gondola is completed this year. I managed 7 rides on my half day 4 hour gondola pass, but you can easily stretch this by making sure your final gondola ride happens just before the expiry, and once you are up you can stay for as long as you want. I took a package deal from Vertigo with the bike, gear and gondola pass and they did a superb job.
