Otago polytechnic bannock burn golf course. Went over to do some other jobs in Cromwell and had the golf clubs in the car. Always mean to play the chip and putt course really better than the name suggests. Actually a 6 hole golf course at the Otago Polytechnic Bannock Burn road campus with holes between 75 and 180 metres long with great turf and small fast greens with lots of contour plus the odd bunker. A bit hard to find as had trouble finding previously hopefully others will find more easily with the help of this post. Green fees $7 one person $10 two people or $20 for the family. Barrel of golf clubs and balls at honest box so do not even need clubs or balls as free to loan for the round. Great facility and the staff and guys and girls doing the turf course program had the course in great condition the day i played. Keep up the great work truely a hidden golf gem of central otago. Course always a work in progress the guys showed me the new first fairway just about ready to be seeded and the new 5th green. Apparently plans to expand to compact 9 hole course. According to the staff course hardy played so can walk on most time. So if you are pasting thru Cromwell and want a bit of a break why not play a quick 6 holes of golf.
