        Good hut at the beginning (or very end) of the Routeburn track. Nice view on the valley directly from the shelter. Toilets available to all hikers.

        Initially I was disappointed that I couldn't book the Falls Hut and instead had to book the Flats... But I shouldn't have been! It's located in an amazing spot with 180 degree views. Great outdoor seating but bring sandfly repellant.

        Not a bad little DoC hut. Has solar lighting, gas cookers, motion lights outside and a beautiful stream view. There is no cell reception on any network. No screens on the windows, so it can get a bit stuffy if you have the windows closed and the coal fire going. It also has a well-covered outdoor area.
