I ended up going into the post shop to send away an order from my online store. After waiting 5 minutes, I was served by an elderly gentleman who didn't look like he wanted to be there at all. He didn't greet me, he just grabbed the item that I was sending and started to SLOWLY enter the details into the computer. I then asked if I could scan the items tracking number, so I could fulfil the order on my point of sale software, he said that was fine but I had to do it away from the counter. I didn't take a photo, I simply scanned the barcode while aimed at the ground and the 'customer service representative' let out a massive sigh, with a look of disgust on his face. I asked what was wrong and why he was so bothered, he then said it was because I took a photo - which I didn't.
After purchasing and arguing for the rest of our interaction, I asked for his name. He refused to give it to me. We conversed backwards and forwards for about 1 minute while other customers were waiting - further wasting peoples time. He then referred me to the owner who was already serving a customer.
She was actually really nice, gave me some helpful advice and then told me that the CSR's name is Nathan.
If you want to work in customer service Nathan, then your first priority should be putting your customers first. It is sad to see that I am not the first person who has complained about you, - however, that wasn't a surprise. There are some great customer service courses online that you may want to consider looking at. I will be sending this review through to NZ Post head office too.
Smiles are free, pal.
