Shotover Primary School

Past student here. Shotover Primary is the worst primary school in the Queenstown area. In the last couple of years that I "learnt" there many people moved to QPS or alternative schools simply because the schooling was insufficient to say the least. That's not to say that the teachers are poor, or don't care, but many have simple grammatical errors such as misused apostrophes in their given work or emails, and the assigned work often teaches you nothing, with no homework ever being given (trust me, that's a negative). There is only one year 10 who went to SPS for the full time that's in either the extended maths or extended English in high school, no thanks to Shotover. The teachers there are lovely, mean well and there are probably reasons they can't teach the right way for all students, such as the curriculum or new open plan design. That being said, if you're considering moving to Queenstown or the surrounding area, don't go to a place that is in the Shotover Primary School zone, for the sake of your kids' future education. P.S. Quote from a parent whose kid went to that school (not exact wording because it was a while ago): "My kid just brought home a maths paper, and I can find more grammatical errors in the text than I did incorrect answers."
