Wills hut

4 stars for the hut, we camped next to it and the ground was uneven, but otherwise a cool location. 1 star for the track, it is not well marked at all. It is an advanced track, so you can expect a bit of scrambling and a rough track, you need solid footwear and a map. The first section is over rocks and it is a bit tricky to find the entry point into the bush, from there you can expect stinging nettle, slippery rocks and a lot of trying to figure out where the next trail marker is. The final part of the track is cool though. If you want a spot deep enough to swim in the river then head upstream from the hut by about 15mins.

A quaint 4 bed hut in the Wills Valley, part of the Mount Aspiring National Park. Track starts at the Gates of Haast and is approx 5 hours to walk in. Location. The track from the Hut to the head of the valley is more a route and turns into a gorge which can take a bit longer than you might expect.
