At the end of a gravel road sits a gate and a little area of grass where you can park your car. From there its an easy 15 20 minute walk down to a fantastic vantage point. Turn right and youll end up in Aramoana, turn left and youll be heading to Heyward Point. If you look down yellow-eyed penguins nest near the beach past Keyhole Rock. If youre lucky and walk down, you will see them on the beach. Most penguin sightings are in the morning and night as they will otherwise be nesting or at sea. The view from this spot, is absolutely gorgeous and overlooks the Pacific ocean and Aramoana Beach. You will also see the Mole (a long breakwater) which is 1200 metres long, as well as the tip of Otago Peninsula. If you have time and feeling adventurous, you can do a spectacular coastal walk along the hilltops to the headlands of Heyward Point. It is a 40 minute walk one way from the cliff top.
