Latitude Homes

We have completed our 2nd house build, the first was 40 years ago with Otago Timber. We decided to build again instead of buying an existing house as you know what you are getting with a new build. We decided to go with Latitude as the plan we picked, the Wingatui was exactly what we wanted. Unfortunately the issues with our first home build were the same as with the Latitude build. Material delays cost over runs on materials and back then there wasn't a pandemic. It was lucky we employed our own builder who did an excellent job. He kept us up to date with what was happening with the build and stayed within his budget. There was some great work done from Jess at Latitude. She kept us up to date with cost increases, aluminium price increase being one. What we weren't told about was the more than double increase in the price of the chimney cowl from then $3000 I had already paid for to over $6000. As this was the quoted price the company building it should have honoured it + 20%. I decided not to pay the extra price. It seemed that once you had signed the contract with Latitude they did not want to have anything else to do with you. The contract person at Latitude should have had fortnightly meetings with the owners and the builder to make sure things were tracking ok. Overall things processed well, you are always going to have issues with your local council, that is how they work. We now have completed the house. My advice is to use your own trusted builder things will go smoother. Service: Predesigned floor plans for homes

Latitude Homes made building our new home so easy.All the staff were courteous,friendly and very professional.Our home was delayed due to Covid but Tony and his team always kept us updated as to what was happening.I would recommend Latitude Homes to anyone who is thinking of doing a new build,great people ,great home plans, quality finishing and fixtures and great service. Latitude Homes Otago provided exceptional customer service from the very beginning, communication was always prompt and we were provided regular updates throughout the building process. This enabled an easy and streamline process, which was particularly important to us given the complexities the Covid 19 pandemic brought to the building industry, but also because we were overseas residents during this time. Our conceptualised design has turned into a beautiful family home for which we are very grateful for. We cannot thank the team at Latitude Homes Otago enough! Services: Home building, Design
