Virginia Barlow Architecture | VBA Limited

Our brief to VBA was to convert an over shop apartment into a modern functional home while retaining important heritage features. Virginia introduced a number of skylights which turned an East West facing space into a warm sunny home. We are thrilled with the outcome.

Extraordinary! We thought we could figure it out ourselves but VBA provided an exponentially better building that we could have. It's not just beautiful, it functions beautifully. They took us from being a three-part, dark, dingy and disconnected building to becoming an award-winning facility the whole town can feel proud to have. Virginia and team were a pleasure to work with - down to earth, pragmatic, creative and agile. We were novices but they never treated us that way. Their ideas definitely took us beyond our wildest dreams - great guidance, backed by smart reasons - often things that we hadn't thought of - light, storage, look and feel, everything. We heard about Virgina by chance and met with her to discuss ideas. She came up with a modern concept plan, which we adjusted to suit our needs. She communicated well with us and our builder and visited the site regularly during the build. Our builder was impressed with her very detailed plans and with the ease of communication. Virginia was very approachable and went to great lengths to investigate ideas that we would come up with such as options of materials to use. We would have no hesitation in employing VBA Limited again in the future.
