My 11 year old son was in the oamaru hospital earlier this month if it wasn't for the helicopter team for calling me to tell me he was being transferred to Dunedin hospital with with a head injury after a car crash I had no idea he was in hospital on top of that his father was sent home with a severely broken arm use were clearly told he had a broken arm as the bones were clicking use failed to do x-rays! It's been 9days! He's since had x-rays and been told he has to have surgery to repair his arm, he's got broken ribs, sternum & potentially broken foot also absolutely appalling

In a different hospital u may expect every section to be inside from the main entrance. But it is not here. Blood test? Then watch out for signs telling u laboratory. That will be before the main entrance way. Blood test 7am to 5.00pm. The best thing is they have got after hours, which is a separate entry. Onsite parking available to the after hours entrance only is what I noticed.

Thank you to the wonderful nurse before 1am on the 9th September. I presented with acute pain through my shoulders and arm. Pain relieve administered very quickly. Instant comfort. A CT scan done around 5am. Through their due diligence I received an ultra sound on the same day. GP received the report next business day. An ovarian tumour discovered. Nothing to do with my admission symptoms. Thank You to the Doctor, CT guy and the Nurse. Much Appreciated.

Need a clean out of a number of staff despite shortages, these ones aren't worth having on site anyway. one of the worst being the blonde ED receptionist - who struggled to do anything even remotely helpful, lacked empathy and urgency and would rather finish her cup of tea and biscuit before getting off of her behind and attending to an elderly woman who was injured and in severe pain. We called ahead and were still left waiting outside. These people ruin it for the doctors and very few nurses that are awesome at what they do.
