Harbour View Resthome

This is one of the most disgusting places I have been to. It is like something out of a Dickens novel. The place and the patients stink and the furniture is dirty and old and what cushions they have are full of holes. My Mum was put in there a year ago and I get so upset when I think of where she is when there are other options. It is being run by a manager who obviously doesn't give a toss and has small town mentality. Do not put your most precious old people in this home

Lovely rest home. When I visit my grandma I always witness the carers being kind and patient to the residents and they always welcome me in. My grandma has been at Harbourview for over 3 years now and was able to take her cat in to keep her company. I get updates on my grandma and any photos and letters I send to her get put up on the wall in her room.

I would not recommend this rest home to anyone.The care is disgusting and the rest home stinks.The meals where always cold. The manager didn't give a toss..My mother inlaw was offer shrimps for tea on Christmas tea and she is allergic to fish they new this. The actives lady was really nice to us.

If you are reading this please do not spend any more time considering Harbour Rest Home. From first hand experience it is not a place were you should consider placing an elderly family member, the care is poor, the building is depressing, a lack of true care and medical attention, prescription drugs being issued with other residents names on them, drugs being used to dumb down residents... Only giving 1 star because you have to give a star - prefer to give no stars.
